Dates expire automatically
Time-sensitive listings leave current discovery when they end. Useful archives are labeled as past.
Current. Local. Sourced.
NearMeFree is rebuilding as a community-supported index of genuinely free events and resources. We are proving the model in Commerce City before expanding anywhere else.
Nothing is published automatically. Every submission enters review.
The trustworthy reset
We will not manufacture thousands of empty pages or present an expired event as current. A city earns an indexable guide only after it has enough source-backed inventory and a way to stay fresh.
Time-sensitive listings leave current discovery when they end. Useful archives are labeled as past.
Every listing keeps an authoritative source link, source organization, and last-checked date.
Residents and organizers can help, but a submission is not presented as verified merely because it arrived.
Pilot market
NearMeFree began as a local event-promotion idea. The old pages captured only one December 2024 coat drive. The reset keeps that history honestly labeled while building the submission and sourcing loop a durable market needs.
Follow the Commerce City build →A business that funds usefulness
We are testing disclosed city sponsorship and white-label local calendars before betting on consumer advertising. Sponsors fund coverage; they do not control what qualifies or how organic listings rank.
